How to Specify Teak Sun Loungers for Poolside and Resort Projects

A project-focused guide to teak sun lounger dimensions, cushion specification, application and custom development for poolside and resort environments.

10 October 2026

Sun loungers are one of the clearest examples of why outdoor furniture should be specified by application. A product for a private terrace and a product for a hotel pool deck may look similar, but the project review can involve different dimensions, cushion requirements and operational considerations.

Start with the poolside or resort application

Define where the lounger will be used and how it fits the surrounding layout. Review the overall footprint, reclining position, access around the product and whether supporting tables or other furniture are part of the same area.

Confirm dimensions and proportion

Overall width, depth and height should be checked against the project plan. If an existing design is close but not exact, discuss a dimension variation before quotation so the technical review reflects the real requirement.

Specify cushions only where they are part of the product

If the lounger includes a cushion, define the cushion thickness, fabric and foam requirement. Some hospitality projects request solution-dyed outdoor fabrics such as Sunbrella or comparable materials, together with Quick Dry Foam where the application calls for it.

Review finish and product details

Finish, hardware and construction details should be reviewed with the product rather than treated as generic project notes. For a custom version, a drawing or reference can help resolve the changes before production.

Use the RFQ as a project shortlist

When several loungers or supporting products are being considered, add the relevant products to one shortlist and send the project context together. This gives the manufacturer a better starting point than separate product-by-product emails.
